Delegates are invited to the conference’s official Welcome Reception on August 1.
The reception will be a good opportunity for all the delegates to make new acquaintances and renew old ones. Let us celebrate our 25th symposium and make it a memorable event!

Free admission for registered participants and accompanying persons.

We are pleased to invite the participants of the ICS2010 to attend this year’s banquet which will be held at Tsuru at the Hotel New Otani Makuhari, located across from the conference building.

Banquet Ticket  : JPY 10,000

The deadline for on-line registration is July 16, 2010.
Banquet tickets may be available on site upon vacancy.

NOTE: The banquet is not included in regular or student registration fees. Those who want to attend the banquet must purchase their ticket separately.
For accompanying persons, banquet fee is included in their registration fee.

Tokyo has many activities to offer to delegates and accompanying family members!

This is a very basic afternoon bus tour of Tokyo.
It includes a visit to the Imperial Palace and Asakusa, and a boat cruise on River Sumida while enjoying the sights of Tokyo.

(3) River Sumida Boat Cruise
Enjoy a 40-minute boat ride from Tokyo Harbor (Hinode Pier) to Asakusa on River Sumida. The river was the most important waterway for the development of Tokyo.

(4) Asakusa Kannon Temple
One of the oldest and most popular Buddhist temple in Japan.

Kotokuin Temple, better known as the Kamakura Daibutsu, belongs to the Jodo Buddhist sect. Construction of the Great Buddha, a 11.31-meter-tall, gilt-bronze statue of the Buddha in seated position, commenced in 1252.

(3) Tsurugaoka Hachimangu Shrine
It was built originally at the present site by Shogun Minamoto Yoritomo in 1191. The present building dates back to 1828.

(4) Komachi Shopping Street
The Komachi shopping street extends from Tsurugaoka Hachimangu Shrine to Kamakura Station. You can enjoy strolling through either of two routes - Komachi-doori and Wakamiya-doori, which run parallel. The former is a bustling shop-lined street, including souvenir shops, restaurants, and curio stores where you can enjoy shopping or tasting Japanese sweets. The latter is the historical route including the Dan-kazura, built by Yoritomo in 1182 as an offering to the Gods for the safe delivery of his pregnant wife, Masako.

The history of Naritasan Shinshoji Temple starts with the image of Fudomyoo which has been enshrined in the Temple as a main deity and is said to have been carved and consecrated by Kobodaishi (Kukai, the founder of Shingon Buddhist sect, 774-835) at the request of Emperor Saga.

On a day-trip to Mt. Fuji, Japan's most famous symbol, and Hakone, the nearest Onsen resort area from Tokyo, you can enjoy the amazing view from the 6th Station on Mt. Fuji (weather permitting). This tour includes a boat cruise on Lake Ashi and the ropeway up Mt. Komagatake.
